Science Investigation Day 5

Dear 3B,
Patience pays off. Our blog has been abuzz with all the excitement about when our fungi friend would pop up...Lo and behold...
Nah, nothing on the toasted bread...But...

Do you see what I see? ;)

Yep! Our moist bread has mould on it!

See? Scientists must have the patience to wait for results. Sketch this in your 3rd column. We'll continue studying the growth in class and discuss this further.
I can't wait to see you in Term 2!

Love,
Ms Priya :)

    3. Dear Ms Priya
how come when my mother ties up the bread and the bread is not wet and after a few days the bread will start to have mould?I thought the mould needed water to be able to grow as it needed air, water and food to survive?

    3. because it is dry.

the toaster was hot and toasted the bread and there was no water in the bread.

the moist bread has water but not the toasted bread.

Ms Priya said that fungi grows when there are moist too(she said it before).

so,that is why fungi don't grow on the toasted bread.:) understand?

  10. Thanks Ms Priya for your reply.

I have my reason for staying anonymous & hope you respect that. I do not want any prejudice against my child due to my voice here. I believe I'm not the only parent that is concerned.

Some students may have access to computer & internet but they can't access it anytime they wanted due to the circumstance at home. As you can see, most comments come from that handful of students, so how do those left out keep abreast?

Though you've emphasized that instructions were given, from the students' comments, there are still many "??". Not every child is the same and remember all instructions given esp if they are verbal.

One student sounded so worried that she even asked a question & requested immediate answer. It shows the anxiety is there.

I'm really concern about the ever-increasing expectation that the education system is placing on both parents & children.
